YardsAway, based in Springfield, VA, mobilizes money-saving deals for consumers in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. YardsAway was founded as part of the worldwide Go Green initiative. It eliminates the use of paper, making it more convenient for on-the-go consumers to take advantage of money saving deals. Our interactive website allows users to customize which deals are sent to their mobile device and they can be presented at the register to receive discounts. Additionally, local consumers can view business videos and connect with others within their community.
Our Mission:
YardsAway's mission is to provide local consumers a wholesome platform to meet others and receive the best local deals via their cell phone. Additionally, we want to empower local businesses with video and mobile (text message) coupons. We know that there are a lot of wonderful businesses throughout the DC Metropolitan area that have great products and/or services to offer. Dean Johnson is our work hard, have fun later businessman. His innovative ideas and charismatic personality has been the driving force that has contributed to the creation of YardsAway.com. Johnson is a team player, with a passion to help small businesses succeed in building their business through web technology.
Johnson founded EF Entertainment, Inc. in 2000, creating an electronic-game marketing company that offers a venue for businesses to increase production, customer interaction and capital through technology events.
Johnson has over nine years of experience in graphic design, sales, advertising, marketing, TV production, branding, web design and development, project management, sales and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Through EF Entertainment, Inc. Mr. Johnson has assisted in marketing and advertising products and services for companies such as Pepsi, Pizza Hut, Intel, nVIDIA, J & N Computers and Red Bull power drink.
Johnson has an AAS degree in visual communications from Monroe Community College. He received a BS degree from the State University of New York College at Brockport in Communications.
Angel Icusca is our Senior Programmer. He is what companies desire to have in a great employee, ambitious, hard-working, and is a problem-solving programmer.
Icusca has over 7 years of programming and software development experience. Mr. Icusca has provided web application programming and software development for corporate companies such as Mindex Technologies, Harris Interactive, Netsville, Inc. and Global Crossing.
Angel Icusca has a BA in Computer Science from Stefan cel Mare University, Suceava, Romania.
