Sad news today, a 10 year old girl dies of cancer. - 35 weeks ago

Today I read that a 10yr.old girl died of cancer and her dying wish was to see her father. However her father was in prison serving a five-year drug-related sentence. There so many dynamics to this story that makes it so very sad. Although the dad was able to have a very brief (20minute) visit with her before she actually died as well as a few brief visits and permissions of phone calls with his daughter, he wasn't able to be with her like a dad should be. On one hand you can look at it like this He should have thought before he made a decision to do something bad. On another hand is prison really the best consequence for this father to get rehabilitated so that he can be with his family. And lastly could the prison system or whoever was in charge have granted him the extra time to spend with his daughter (while serving the remainder of his sentence in a halfway house as he requested) when they had the power in their hand to do so.
